"On the Mountain" is a painting from the series Contemporary Alchemy, which explores the theme of spiritual ascent, the union of the earthly and the heavenly.
At the center of the composition is a sandy space symbolizing the human path, inner changes, and traces of experience. Through this "sand of time" runs the axis of transformation: at the bottom is a silver triangle, symbolizing matter, beginning, and foundation, and at the top is a golden one, inverted, as a sign of descending Light, illumination, and divine energy. Between them is a thin boundary of transition, the moment when the earthly and the heavenly meet.
On either side of the vertical axis are soft fields of color — light red, light blue, light yellow, and light gray, like the four elements creating balance and supporting the inner structure of the world. These colors are not just a background — they are the breath of space, its energetic rhythm.
Gold and silver, applied with patal, give the painting a sacred shimmer, reminding of the presence of Light even in the densest matter.
The work can be perceived as a visual meditation on ascent — on the inner Mountain to which everyone who seeks themselves climbs. Here form becomes a sign, color — breath, and Light — essence.
